JTx - Gen2 Alto sax mouthpiece.

The JTx - Gen2 Alto sax mouthpiece is designed to provide a bright and powerful alto sax tone. A little bright for recording work, but a solid performer that can stand out in an ensemble or hold its own as a solo piece.

The JTx accomplishes this task with the right amount of brightness for contemporary work. The higher baffle and thicker rail increase the brightness of the mouthpiece to give a sonic quality that will definitely cut through a large ensemble or work well as a solo performer. The lows are solid and the high notes are controlled and pleasing. Paired with an Aidis 803S alto (93% copper with silver finish) the combination produces a bright sound that will command attention.

The mouthpiece is easy blowing and very controllable. It does not ship with a cap or ligature, because most players have their favorite setup anyway. These are available in reed tip opening 7 through 9.

#8 is 2.25mm
#9 is 2.50mm

JTx Tenor Sax mouthpiece 

The j0hnnyToxic "JTx" Tenor Saxophone mouthpiece is here from the manufacturer. We have been working with our professional players and the manufacturer to get a good mix of features that sax players will love. The JTx will be offered with tip openings from 7 to 11 for the more aggressive performers.

These mouthpieces have been in development for a number of months. A mix of sonic qualities have been borrowed from some favorite models, vintage and modern, to get a great all-around-performer that really projects, offers the right amount of bite, and doesn't sound too bright. Think of blending together a Dukoff Super-Power-Chamber with a Lawton mouthpiece.  

These JTx mouthpieces are being built by an OEM manufacturer to our specifications. We have very small batches made when inventories demand. This manufacturer has been an excellent partner and has incorporated all of teh design changes that we have requested to get the desired product.

Also, we are keeping the price reasonable. It's kind of our thing...keeping the cost of buying cool sax gear in reach of the average Joe. The JTx size 7,8,and 9 are $79 each. The size 10 and 11 mouthpieces are $149. These are sold without caps, ligatures, or fancy certificates from an artisan. Buy one for yourself and get one for your a friend. You're going to love this setup.

We currently have JTX Tenor models with opening from 7 to 10.

Leather strap ligatures are an optional accessory for these mouthpices. The ligature is specifically designed and available from the mouthpiece maker to complement the sonic qualities of the JTx.

JTx - Bari sax mouthpiece.

The JTx Bari sax mouthpiece is very agressive. The baffle is high and produces a throaty and powerful tone. The facings on these run larger than the other mouthpieces so be cautious - you may downgrade on size and be safe.The profile is aggressive than a standard mouthpiece making it a good choice for R&B/rock players that want edge.

Each mouthpiece is sold with a cap and ligature..

Size 7  (2.794  mm) = 0.110"                   

Size 8  (3.088   mm) = 0.121"           
Size 9   (3.302  mm) = 0.130"
Size 10  (3.59 mm) =  0.141"

JSa Mouthpiece - Soprano Sax

The JSa Soprano sax mouthpiece is designed to mirror the performance of our most popular mouthpiece – the JTx Tenor sax mouthpiece. The JTx is designed to be a good, stage performing mouthpiece. A little bright for recording work, but a solid performer that can stand out in an ensemble or hold its own as a solo piece.

The JSa accomplishes this task with the right amount of brightness for contemporary work. The lows are solid and the high notes are controlled and pleasing. Paired with a Tuxedo Winds S111 soprano (brass with black lacquer finish) the combination produces a warm sound that will fit well in most sessions.

The mouthpiece is easy blowing and very controllable. It does not ship with a cap or ligature, because most players have their favorite setup anyway. These are available in reed tip opening 7 through 9.
